Rawlings Chapter Officers Effective October, 2025

(Note: Rawlings officers comprise it’s Board of Directors, which is synonymous with “Chapter Council” as required by our organization’s by-laws.)


Chapter President & Treasurer: Sarah Wise i
Sarah is a graduate of AFA’s Emerging Leader Program. She holds a Bachelor’s of Science (BS) degree in Accounting from Saint Catherine University. Currently, Sarah is an Associate Accountant for the Dairy Foods business at Land O’Lakes, Inc. in Arden Hills, MN.


Chapter Vice President: Tom Theis
Tom Theis is retired from USAFR (four years active duty with the USAF) and as a DoD civilian. Served at SAC HQ, Offutt AFB, NE as aircrew aboard the Looking Glass and Underground Command Post as a communications operator. He was a licensed policeman by the Bureau Criminal of Apprehension and as a DoD Police Officer. Tom has a fixed wing and commercial helicopter rating. He been a member of Civil Air Patrol, Auxiliary of the USAF for 40 years and served as the Minnesota Wing Commander. 


Minnesota State President: Colonel (Ret.) Roman Hund
Col Hund was commissioned through the Air Force ROTC at the University of St Thomas and University of Minnesota.  He graduated with a BS in Mechanical Engineering (U of M) and BA in Engineering (UST).  He served in the Air Force for 26 years as a Cyber Operations officer at Base, Major Command, Joint Staff, and DoD Agency level including two tours in Operation Iraqi Freedom.  He completed his career as Commander, 66th Air Base Group, Hanscom AFB, MA.  After retirement, he and his wife Hilary moved to the Twin Cities to settle down and spend time with family.  Roman is currently an Information Security Director with RSM US LLP in Minneapolis, MN.


Secretary: Dave Pohlen
Lt Col David Pohlen was born and raised in Eden Prairie MN.  He was commissioned through ROTC at the University of Notre Dame with a degree in Aerospace Engineering.  He also holds an MS in Astronautical Engineering and an MS in Military Operational Arts and Sciences.  He has worked ICBM testing, satellite dynamics research, missile defense, and unmanned aircraft systems during his 20 year Air Force career.  He also spent a tour teaching leadership at the Air Force Squadron Officer School and finished his career as the Commander of AFROTC Detachment 750 at St Joseph’s University, Philadelphia PA.  His wife, Amy, of 25 years also served 5 years in the Air Force as a logistics officer.  They have three children.


Vice-President of Aerospace Education: Lawrence Sagstetter
Lawrence Sagstetter holds a Master of Public Affairs (MPAff.) degree from the LBJ School of Public Affairs, the University of Texas at Austin; a BA from the University of Minnesota where he attended the Carlson School of Management. He is a member of AFA’s national Aerospace Education Council & liaison to AFA’s National Field Council. He is North Central Region president of AFA.

 


Veteran Affairs/Community Relations Advisor: Tim Uecker 
Accomplished Intelligence leader, Program/Resource Manager and US Air Force Veteran offering 25+ years of demonstrated success in organizational change management, crisis response operations, resource management, professional development, intelligence analysis, recruiting and multi-site operations of mid-/large-sized organizations within the federal government. Strategically manages human, financial, and informational resources to meet objectives. Demonstrates a devotion to continuous improvement and functions as a catalyst for building successful teams and producing results in fast-paced, diverse organizations. Adept in applying outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to connect with a wide array of audiences. Maintains advanced skills in intelligence operations, crisis management, compliance, organizational/team leadership, and support to large geographically-diverse organizations.
